With the cooperation of the Pike County Board of Commissioners in June, LWVPike held a lecture and panel discussion on local boards and commissions with a panel consisting of current and past board members.

LWVPike presented Fritz Walker of FairDistrictsPA who spoke on the unfairness of gerrymandering and pending redistricting reform legislation at the Pike County Public Library. A full house of concerned voters came out on a rainy Wednesday to hear him. The work of FDPA resulted in judicial relief from Congressional gerrymandering in PA.

With a grant from the state League, LWVPike welcomed Susan Spicka of Education Voters of PA to present a panel discussion on upcoming changes to school funding formulas in Pennsylvania. She was joined by members of Pike and Monroe Counties' education community for a lively and informative discussion.
